The Village of Holly Council will hold a public hearing to receive written and verbal comments from citizens regarding the Proposed Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget and Public Safety Special Assessment on June 23, 2026 at 6:00 PM during the regular Council meeting located in the Council Chambers located at 504 ½ East Maple, Holly, MI.

A copy of the proposed budget is available for viewing at the Clerk/Treasurer’s office during regular business hours. The proposed budget calls for a rate of taxation of 10.9641 and a Public Safety Special Assessment of 4 mills. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be the subject of this hearing.

Interested persons are encouraged to attend the meeting. Handicapped persons needing assistance to attend are asked to contact the Village offices at least 48 hours prior to the meeting at (248) 634-9571 during regular business hours.


NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED FINANCING OF POLICE AND FIRE SERVICES THROUGH A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT

TO: CITIZENS, RESIDENTS, AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE VILLAGE OF HOLLY, OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Holly Village Council will hold a public hearing on June 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., local time, at the Village Hall, 504 ½ E. Maple Street, Holly, Michigan 48442, to hear and consider comments and objections regarding the proposed annual special assessment levy for police and fire services.

The proposed special assessment levy is 4.0000 mills, which is the same millage rate levied for the previous fiscal year. The proposed special assessment roll, distribution of the levy, and supporting information are on file with the Village Clerk and are available for inspection or copying during regular business hours at the Village offices, 504 ½ E. Maple Street, Holly, Michigan 48442.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that property owners or parties in interest may appear and protest the special assessment at the public hearing in person or by agent, or may file an appearance and protest by letter before the close of the hearing. Appearance and protest at the hearing are required in order to appeal the special assessment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal, in accordance with MCL 211.741.

The Village of Holly will provide necessary and reasonable auxiliary aids and services at the hearing, such as signers for hearing-impaired persons and audio materials for visually impaired persons, upon receipt of five days’ prior notice.
